ASSISTANT TO THE ARTWORK AND PRINT MANAGER
TEMPORARY POST INITIALLY – 6 MONTHS
(may lead to permanent)
The Denby Pottery Company is the UK’s No. 1 casual tableware brand, synonymous with quality and award-winning product design, selling to an impressive customer base worldwide. Denby also has a very strong product base in tableware accessories, glassware and cookware.
Earlier this year, an artwork and print department was setup in Denby with the aim of bringing the art working and print management for Denby and its attached brands in-house. This department has proved very successful.
We are now looking to recruit an Assistant to support the Artwork and Print Manager with the implementation of a number of critical projects. Initially we are looking for someone to work with us on a temporary contract during the busy period over the next 6 months. However, there is a strong possibility of the post becoming permanent; in any event this would be invaluable experience for someone hoping to pursue or develop a career in artwork and print management.
Broadly the job will support the Manager in: organising incoming artwork requests; creation of print artwork (for packaging, POS, signs, posters, large-format graphics, leaflets, booklets and internal communication); construction of digital assets such as images, banners and web graphics; and house-keeping for physical printed assets, paper and print samples, press / proof sheets etc.
Applicants MUST be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator with knowledge of typography and fonts; and competent in creating artwork for both print and web while adhering to brand guidelines. Clearly this means knowing your way around a mac with good housekeeping habits.
Also ideally you will possess: a good knowledge of separations, printing processes and relevant repro’ skills; an understanding of internet terms, image file formats and nomenclature; familiarity of colour profiles and management; a good grasp of colour and have an eye for detail.
This is a fast-paced environment and you will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work on multiple projects at one time – often juggling more than one. You will need a positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a flexible approach to work, as ad-hoc requirements with short lead times are frequent.
This is a great opportunity which will expose you to a broad range of applications, giving a real boost to your career, and should appeal to a graduate or similar, with the essential basic skills, looking to start or extend their career in this field.
Please apply in writing, with CV and details of current or expected salary, to: David Ashton, HR Manager, Denby Pottery Ltd., Denby Derbyshire, DE5 8NX
