Welcome to Denby
The Denby Bicentenary 1809 - 2009
As Denby’s Bicentenary year draws to a close, why not treat yourself in the Denby online store. To mark Denby’s 200th birthday there have been a series of new product launches and events throughout 2009 and we have some fantastic offers available in the lead up to Christmas. Denby has a long and rich history and has evolved to meet the changing needs of society. For generations it has been at the heart of the home. It was founded as a manufacturer of bottles and household goods (the Denby Hot Water Bottle kept feet warm throughout the Napoleonic Wars). It has also helped to sustain Britain through its first ‘dot.com’ revolution in the 1870’s (when telegraphic insulators were one of Denby’s biggest sellers), the Great Depression (when there was huge demand for Denby’s brightly coloured art ware) and World War II (“utility” brown teapots helped sustain the home front). Today Denby pottery remains the number one choice for the bride in the UK.
