INTERNATIONAL SALES SUPPORT EXECUTIVE

SLIP HOUSE OPERATOR VACANCY

We currently have a vacancy for an Operator to work within the Slip House on a permanent contract basis. The normal working hours are based on rolling three shift rota – 6.00am to 14.30pm, 6.00am to 15.30pm and 12noon to 22.00pm.

This role will require flexibility as weekend working, unsociable hours and overtime as and when required is all part of the position.

This is a physically demanding job and requires someone who is able to work well within a team and who can therefore appreciate the importance of good attendance and punctuality. The role will also involve independent working and will require someone who is able to problem solve/resolve issues. The position has many heavy manual handing processes and requires a person who is willing to maintain the demanding nature of the tasks.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate the Slip House processes and ancillary equipment.
• Operate the Cylinder House processes and ancillary equipment.
• Operate the Effluent Plant and ancillary equipment.
• Operate the loading shovel to mix and transport the raw clay material
• Operate the tractor for the transportation of the plastic clay to the factory
• Operate the loading shovel/forklift truck to assist with general deliveries.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements pertaining to the job.
• Co-operate and assist the Team Leader to operate all the department’s processes and procedures to deliver a quality product to the customer.
• Maintain high standards of house keeping and to operate the equipment safely.
• Operate the loading shovel.
• Operate the tractor.
• Operate the skidsteer.
• Operate all processes as per the safe operating procedures, risk assessments and safe working instructions.

DETAILED DUTIES:

• To have an understanding and knowledge of the ISN operating system within the Slip House and ancillary equipment.
• To have an understanding and knowledge of the operating processes from raw material to the final plastic clay state.
• To have an understanding and knowledge of the quality constraints of the clay. i.e. pint weight, temperature, recipe constituents and moisture content (pfefferkorn)
• To have an understanding and knowledge of the Effluent Plant processes and ancillary equipment.
• Operate the skidsteer and load the cylinders with clay.
• Operate the cylinders to disperse the clay into slop form.
• Operate the sieves and pumps to transfer the slip from the Cylinder House to the Slip House.
• Operate all aspects of the plastic clay making process.

The candidate will also be required to hold a valid & clean driving licence, have their own transport and live within a 30-minute radius as they will be on call for gritting duties as part of their role.
