We now have a great opportunity to recruit a replacement UK Group Health and Safety Manager to ensure that health and safety continues as a high priority within the Group, including Retail and their other subsidiary companies.

Principal responsibilities are:
• Maintain and develop the importance of H&S at all levels within the business
• Reporting in a timely and accurate manner H&S statistics and report preparation for the leadership team and board
• Direct liaison with insurers and enforcing authorities
• Delivering health and safety training and inductions
• Conducting risk assessments, audits and investigations in accordance with procedures and legislation
• Ensuring systems and reports are maintained in a timely and accurate manner

This is obviously a very important role within the business requiring the successful candidate to hold a NEBOSH Certificate, preferably a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. The candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience preferably in manufacturing and retail, however consideration will be given to other sectors.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, leadership and influencing skills with a strong sense of integrity and professionalism.

A can-do positive attitude is required to push through new ways of thinking, improvements and change where necessary as well as an organised approach in order that priorities and multiple tasks can be managed properly.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

We have a great opportunity for a bright enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to join our Design Team to support the development of new glazes and colours.

This interesting role, reporting to the Glaze Development Manager, will provide ‘hands-on’ support to the team and duties will include:
• Liaising with teams on the shop floor to progress trials to finished samples
• Mixing raw materials accurately to produce development glazes
• Assessing trial glazes and recording information
• General lab duties

Ideally, we would like the candidates with the following minimum attributes:
• Accurate worker, with strong attention to detail
• Good colour vision
• Maths & English language (GCSE or similar)
• A strong interest in colour, texture and home fashions
• An interest in science/laboratory work

This will be a full-time staff position, 8.45am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

FINANCE LEDGER CLERK

Applications are invited for the above full-time role within the Finance team.

Job Specification (includes but is not limited to the following):
• Input of multi-currency customer receipts and remittance allocation.
• Maintaining our customer chargeback database, routinely chasing data and credit notes.
• Processing new customer set up forms and routine record maintenance, statements and direct debits.
• Dealing with customer queries in a quick, efficient manner.
• Responsible for a small portfolio of customer accounts, chasing debt.
• Bank Reconciliations.
• Cashier holiday cover including daily banking.
• Purchase ledger cover during busy periods.
• Mail, filing and general office administration.

We are looking for an individual with a positive, “can-do” attitude with excellent organisational skills. A pleasant telephone manner is required, as well as someone who is a team player and confident in communicating to all levels. Someone who is self-motivated and focussed who is able to work without supervision would fit in well with the current team. The ideal candidate will be highly numerate and computer literate, with particular regard to Excel spreadsheets.

Previous ledger work experience would be desirable.

Working hours are 0845 – 1700 Monday – Friday.

DENBY POTTERY VILLAGE
CRAFTROOM ASSISTANT
(Paint a Pot)

Denby Pottery Village is looking to appoint a Paint a Pot Assistant to join our current talented team within the busy Paint a Pot Studio. This role is 5 hours per week (every Saturday) however, the successful candidate must also be available to work school holidays and cover for sickness etc. with additional hours potentially available during peak periods. This is a ‘get involved role’ where we can take advantage of any skills you may be able to bring to the party!

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and friendly individual, who can work well within a team but also on their own initiative and who enjoys and has experience in interacting with customers. We are looking for someone who is able to work closely with people of all ages, young and old to show and help them create their own masterpieces. You will need to be willing to learn how to paint with glazes, be organised and work well under pressure. Craft and art skills are also desirable but not essential.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced full-time Store Manager where the successful candidate will play a crucial role in our continued success.

The role will require you to drive sales and profitability, manage costs and deliver outstanding visual merchandising standards in your Store. The successful candidate will have retail management experience (either in a store or concession environment) as well as an awareness and passion for the Denby brand and its products. A flexible approach to work is critical to success.

Also essential is a “can-do” attitude for all aspects of the role and an ability to inspire and motivate a small, dedicated team. Experience in the homewares sector and/or in an Outlet or fast-paced environment is essential but not critical.
